SAMUEL BAIRD BURSARY

The Samuel Baird Bursary is awarded to the top male student and top female student in Year 10 if/when they return to school to complete Year 11.

Each recipient receives a bursary to assist with expenses incurred during Years 11 and 12.

SCHOOL AWARDS NIGHT ACADEMIC AWARDS

Eligibility for Academic Awards is calculated on a student’s latest and fullest results -

School Dux

A gold Medallion is presented to the Year 12 student who achieves the highest levels of achievement in five Board Subjects.

Subject Awards

These awards are presented to the top performers in each Year 12 subject; provided that they have attained at least a HA in that subject.

Academic Merit Medallions

Recognition is given to those students who have attained academic excellence. Year 8 – 10 students must have at least 5 VHAs with no result less than a HA. Year 11 – 12 students must have achieved at least 4 VHAs with no result less than a HA.

PHIL JOHNS MEMORIAL AWARD

Criterion Awarded to a Year 12 student who has achieved the highest results in the
combination of Maths B and Maths C. Selected by HOD Mathematics

Award: Book Prize ($25.00) and certificate

GLYNNE JOHNS MEMORIAL AWARD

Criterion Open to year 12 students only. Awarded to the student who has achieved the highest result in English. Selected by HOD English

Award: Book Prize ($25.00) and certificate

ACADEMIC MERIT CERTIFICATES

To obtain an Academic Merit Certificate, a student will have consistently attained a high level of achievement. Points are allocated for each VHA, HA and SA.

EFFORT CERTIFICATES

Effort certificates are presented to those students in each year level who have –

  • worked to the best of their ability
  • shown consistent effort in class and with homework
  • Submitted assignments on time.

Class teachers nominate students.
Effort certificates are presented at the final Year 12 parade.
